Croydon Commmitment is a corporate-led social responsibility charity that promotes the work of local charities and voluntary groups and is supported by local businesses. Croydon Commitment fundraises on behalf of other charities and promotes community involvement amongst local companies and their staff.

Local companies subscribe to this charity so that they can make a greater impact within their local community and to strengthen links with charities and community groups.

Croydon Commitment bridges the gap between the needs of the local community and that of businesses in the area, identifying and facilitating activities for them to participate so that local charities benefit. Collaboration is the key to our success and by working together, all the companies involved can make a far greater impact in the borough.

Fundraising is a big part of our work and events include the annual Committed comedy night, a charity Croydon 100 Challenge, as well as the Dragons' Den, Team Events and involvement in the annual Croydon Charity Ball.

Croydon Commitment Grass Roots Trust
Croydon Commitment has set up a Trust to benefit the local community of Croydon. For every pound raised, the government will match fund this sum pound for pound. The government have introduced the scheme to encourage UK regional areas to build up charitable endowment funds which are being invested until March 2011 as a growth fund, with the interest thereon being donated on an anuual basis to support people in Croydon.

A board of advisers will be appointed by Croydon Commitment to manage the distribution of the funds on an annual basis and it is hoped that much of this funding will be used to assist individuals with education and training grants and bursaries so they will be better equipped to achieve otherwise unattainable goals.
